Woots.. been over a month since i posted..

december: nothing much, been doing sch work most of the time..

31st: Went for countdown with they all except cand (In States) and peiyi (busy?)
Carl's Jr burger is damn filling. And by accident, Mau got 2 ThickBurger o.o
Wondered how he finished it.

Mau bought Monopoly Deal.. which is a fun game.. those who don't know what is it? go try.

Played while waiting for fireworks to start.

1st: Happy new year!!
Watched the fireworks.. which i think is better than last year's? if i remember.

After that, squeezed all the way to city hall mrt and then off to mau's new house.

Stayed up till 7am? playing games, com, monopoly deal, talk lol..

Slept for 3 hrs? till 10+

played more monopoly deal.. then went to superdog for lunch

then it's home time.. slacked..

Basically.. that is the super summarized one.. lazy to type -.-

I realized something these few days..

I'm doing things at the extremes..

If I slack, I can slack for weeks without making progress to my project.
If I chiong, I can get things done in a matter of minutes.

So, it's still slack mode for me now and I do not intend to touch project stuff till the Christmas break.

Instead of thinking about project, I've been thinking about making more money.
I've earned quite a bit from 4D, so the money will go into a new venture during break.

Gambling : Money earned based on luck and luck alone.

Business venture : Money earned based on risk-taking and careful planning.

So I do not consider my 4D playing as gambling, cos I planned what numbers to buy instead of randomly picking numbers.

Yup, so that's about it. Hope my business venture is successful, and hope my holidays won't get ruined by world skills =)

Monday :
Lost thumbdrive that contains some past world skills thing for reference.
not very worried abt it though.. cos it's already very old.

Tuesday :
Lost the laptop charger and mouse at the computer lab -.-
Very emo.. and i didnt realize until i wanted to use my laptop.

Today :
Went back school take the stuff i lost.. my thumbdrive surely someone kop it away already.. so.. didn't care much about it. But the charger if lost, need to pay a lot for a new one. So, i made my way to the lab, and found my laptop charger and mouse sitting there quietly, waiting for me to retrieve them. The only restriction was the locked door that requires the staff pass to open. -.-
Therefore, i went to the helpdesk to ask them to help me open the lab, and there just told me to get a lecturer there to open the door. -.-
Just then i seriously think the helpdesk was there just to provide jobs for people.
Your laptop have problems? reformat.
Door locked? Ask lecturer.

I didn't want to disturb the lecturers that were teaching there, so i just waited for passing lecturers. After 3 lecturers passed, all of them said that they do not have access.
=.= what is helpdesk doing.
They have all the keys and do not want to open a single door.

Anyway, after getting my stuff back (There was a class at 10.10am, and i just went in to take)

I went to hub to meet mau and th, movie-ed (human nature is nice =))
went to library a while, then went to sushi buffet. lim met us later.
after sushi, damn full.. worth the price, not worth the time, we spent too much time there.. lol so if you want to go, find sometime where you can slack for 2+ hours just eating sushi.

anyway, home-ed after that

Been going to WSS trainings quite diligently? :)

and basically 2 reasons why I am not posting anything here for so long :

LAZY

friday was the end of the WSS trainings (finally)
and tml, I have the emokia IBM certification -.-

it's 64 qns and basically, i am required to have at least 37-38 to have a 59% grade,
which is the passing mark.

and it's not as simple as you think..
for those who knew, it is around 5 times more emo than database management system
(which is already very emo)

there's 6 topics, and i'm on topic 2 -.-

dun think i can finish though =X so just gonna read thru and roll dice.

you can do all the tutorials 10 times over and still fail the exam
you can also do 1 page of tutorial and pass with flying colours

Been busy this week..

First,
MJ passed away.
I hear the news i chua sai, as i've been quite a small fan of him since young..
He's made great accomplishments in his lifetime, and became the icon of pop.
Fan or not fan. I'm sure everyone knows him in 1 way or another.
Be it his songs or his scandals.

Either way, he's a person to remember. RIP.

Second,
e-learning week is stressful -.-

so many assignments to submit and read up..

then the stupid heucampus so dam lag, and we're supposed to use that thing to have our attendance taken.

therefore, i fished out my C++ programming lecture notes, and briefly read through.

after about 30 seconds of reading, i found out that there was nothing to read about.

therefore, i took out my foolscap paper, trying to pen down some notes, but instead, i spun the pencil for the rest of the period in which i was in the library.

lim was also not in the mood for study. in the end, did like a few questions only.

therefore, we went to kpool to play pool. played a good 2 hours before th met with us.

(ok, eng deprove a while)

during pool, i bought a can of chrysanthemum wif lim, or shld i say, lim helped my buy, tgt wif his... ok

omg, when i went home just now. i took 853 with nick. and this 853 is very old that kind of bus. the door closes by sliding from left to right one. then this granny is going down the bus at around amk there. omg, then i think because she quite old then very slow when walking down. then the bus driver no see. thought nobody going down already. then she kena hit by the slide door and she fell. omg, then we heard ppl screaming. then the bus driver stop. and see what happen. then some uncles helped her up.

she is very strong ! she never cry, she never complain like most granny do. i really admire her for that.

if you know, old people fall is a very serious thing. serious can cause death*no kidding* , if not is injured very jia lat one. and the driver call ambulance. then we need to change bus. its very scary. omg. shit. hais.

life is like chocolate... hold it too tight, it will melt... just like ppl giving you too much pressure..
hold it too loose, it may drop, and nvr taste it again.. the same as you slacking your way thru life...
chocolate is never sweet totally, it always have a tinge of bitterness, bittersweet is wat life is all about... too sweet, not chocolate anymore.. too bitter, few can handle it.. but usually, ppl who can handle bitter chocolate well, knows how to cope with it and enjoy the sweetness encased in the bitter outside...
these people are usually the successful ppl in life, after going through the bitterness in life, they finally enjoyed the sweetness hidden inside... and this sweetness is usually the best feeling, the ultimate enjoyment of chocolates...

-I hate restrictions.. hmm example: this web stops me from viewing or downloading some things or nid to pay or wadever.. i can go great lengths to overcome these restrictions.. by ethical or unethical means.. i dun care.. just overcome it xD

-I dun commit my time on anything.. =)
so even if u remove some activity from my life, i wun be too much affected..

-I cant memorise things.. thats y my "memorising" subjects in sec sch, like geog, ss, wadever else, cannot make it..

hmm been almost a week ehh?

kk nothings up.. the nyp ppl keep called me 2 times in 2 days 0.o

1st:
missed call me.. then i called back.. told me that actually they wanted me to spread a msg to my class informing them to meet the course coordinator during the first day of sch reopen.. i asked again whether i still need to spread the msg.. she said no nid =.=

2nd:
called me then asked me to go ushering for the grads celebration..

when i heard it, i jitao 0.o wth? call me ask me go ushering? these kind of things not ask those SIT club ppl do one meh?

i said "ehh hmm i have something on that day (someday in may i dno when.. think 27)... and i dun think i would be able to go(they oso have 2 trial runs/rehearsal for the grad celebration.. considering i already hae wsc trainings going on.. and 2nd yr seems busy.. do u think i would be able to spend time ushering ppl?).."

ok then she goes on about how im not in a cca and cca points matter besides results when out in the industry.. and said

"academically, u are already above the standard(look im not trying to flaunt or boast about it or anything.. im just quoting) and besides ur result.. we still have to look for your participation in various activities to show that you are a active person in the community." o.o

of cos i noe about the cca stuff and out of curriculum activities going on.. but considering the time, i may nt be able to commit myself.. wsc going on.. thurs lesson ends at 8.30 pm.... extra stress on the PM.. go hm shld be like ehh? 9-10? zzz and i dun think have any breaks from 1 - 8.30 or so i think...

be careful of the april's fool virus thats set to be released.. hmm now?

hmm so theres this worm, called conficker or downadup or kido.. depending on ur antivirus that calls it..

actually its not new.. its actually detected on 2008 but the creator of this worm said to update the worm to a newer version earlier in march and on april fool's

so.. wads wif this worm..
hmm its not known yet as the creator have not activated yet.. just infecting ppl until now.. but maybe just delete hard drive files or block internet.. send spam.. all this common things..

so.. how to check if u have this??
this worm basically blocks all access to antivirus sites like www.bitdefender.com, www.eset.com, www.symantec.com and all that..

so to check? just try going to these places and see whether u tio block or nt =)

how sia? i tio liao...
use a non infected com to go ehh www.bdtools.net or some links in symantec.com
download the removal tool then run it.. basically its ok liao..

actually theres nothing to worry abt.. just make sure windows is updated to latest stuff (mac i dno =0) and ur antivirus is latest and all this crap..

ehh.. nothing much.. monday went to dhoby ghaut wif lim and th.. meeting at 5..

but lim and i went to good speed at 2.. cos they have a package for 3 hrs

thn played l4d, 1v1 dota.. yea this 2 nia..

and i found out.. garena ppl so much more pro than good speed ppl in l4d..

and whn i went to solo witch, the ppl beside me @_@ lol.. their reaction funny..

hmm.. then came 5 pm whn we went to dhoby ghaut, got my new tally ho deck

so much more tougher than bikes and fans well.. but practice still use bikes better =)

these few days not been updating.. why?

a strong bout of lazyness just hit me ~

yesterday, or was it 2 days ago? o.o yea i think is 2 days ago..

was playing cabal.. then suddenly felt too lazy to level up.. then i went to slp at 12..

then woke up at 3.. lol.. dno why.. then felt lazy to go back to slp..

then anyway.. woke up alr nothing to do.. so went watch tv.. but lazy go and on the tv.. so? i went to on my laptop.. played audi a while but felt lazy to play after 2 games..

so i went youtube.. watch the videos load until lazy to wait for them.. so i went to watch some random movie online.. then same reason as the youtube part, i just off it..

after like 15 mins of total nothingness.. then i went to eat breakfast at 5 o.o

lazy eat lunch o.o

then hmm.. suddenly not so lazy already.. lol finally went about my usual routine..

game, cards, game, tv, practicing random programming, tv, eat , game, slp

cos of exams.. and chiong-ing maths the whole time.. just for the exam on monday.. =0

and turns out.. hmm quite ok.. a few careless here and there.. and i was really sad for my classmates that thought that the maths paper was too hard for them.. as seriously semester 2's maths sure is more difficult than the previous semester's..

but the main thing is that its not that they are nt trying hard enough.. its just that i dno why.. they just dun get the topic.. and therefore leads to them scoring lower than expected grades.. hmm

ok so.. finished presentation..

nt as good as i expected.. but nonetheless.. the assessors said that our team's project is the most complete program than the rest of the teams.. but sadly.. no one went for distinction presentation o.o yet..

well anyway.. went the the world skills competition briefing after the presentation..

hmm around like 20+ ppl? from the school of it.. information tech, business informatics, engineering informatics and another business it.. and IT has got like 4-5 ppl.. including me.. and the rest are all strangers..

hmm.. thn they went on to describe our field of competition cos world skills really is challenging almost all fields of expertise.. like cooking, engineering, and a lot more..

hmm so apparently theres 2 fields which i can choose.. IT/PC networking and the other is the software side.

basically.. networking side deals wif networking la lol.. and pc hardware troubleshooting all this...

software application side deals wif making use of software(microsoft software: access, word, ppt, excel..... graphics: photoshop and corelDraw) to do out something to meet the criteria for the competition which until now i still have little idea of wad isit about..

hmm so even though networking got security stuff. which i prefer.. mainly it deals wif all those that i see already oso @_@

and software side has better certification through the training which lasts 1 yr++, 2 yrs if representing sg..

like microsoft certified professional and adobe certified expert..
and i dno got more or nt???

ok.. so i went for the software side.. =) gdluk to me

but the hard part comes.. im trading my breaks, semester and terms.. for trainings

REASONS:
project work is piling up
assignments
tests & quizzes ( dam lots of it)
lazy
nothing's up very much

ok so.. last week was ok..

went to pool last week.. actually wif th, sher and lim..

but, due to my stupid assignment submission..

i went there i forgot wad time, then sher went off when i reached o.o

lol.. anw.. play 2 rounds then th left for gym..

lim and i went to arcade.. i did not plan on playing anything there.. but just stand there and look at how lim got thrashed in street fighters..

ok after tht.. went hm..

nothing's up alr except for chionging proj and occasional audi..

hmm.. today was ok i think had maths quiz but zzz quite like open book..
but its better than open book.. we can discuss among ourselves..
thn i got stuck at 1 qn.. i dno.. i ask lecturer for help lol..

then copied his steps and submit.. lol.. 5% of the final results into ur pocket. =)

ok then after that, had java practical test.. 100 minutes time limit.. hmm.. i think i used 30 minutes and spin pen for the rest of the time..

actually we can just submit the script then go out of the room.. but sianed i lazy wait outside.. then in the room oso got chairs to sit.. lol.. then i slowly see ppl going out and standing there like zzz and waiting for the rest to finish.. lol

yesterday went for open hse..

actually dun wan go one.. at hm chiong assignment better..

but.. no mood do assignment.. then the other day chiong-ed a lot already..

so yesterday nvr really chiong anyway.. so ya just go for open hse.. cos i know myself too well.. stay at hm = play com.. cannot do assignment one.. so i took my laptop and went sch.. then zzz the stupid lecturer saw me sia.. then ask me go help open hse.. then actually i say i dun wan.. cos i still got assignment want go library do.. but then ar.. i see the stupid place.. like around 10 ppl help wif those goody bag stuff nia..

so i dam pity them.. run here run there.. lol.. then i go help.. =)

then later, 3 of my other frens also came.. then we helped out..

wa dam tiring sia.. ppl take 1 shift i take 2 =0

cos really is after shift 1, then i actually want go do assignment.. then oso very jialat.. no mood at all.. then go help shift 2, after the shifts..around 6, i chiong-ed coffee first.. cos they store the NESCAFE in the our area, then i ask all those staff can drink or nt..
then they say: " drink la.. i oso nt in charge of this.. then i pretend nvr see =)"

so now.. some of us have to travel like 30mins to go sch just to submit 1 stupid assignment then have to travel all the way back..

the sch system oso very funny.. cannot ask other ppl help u submit.. must use ur own dam account..

i know thats for security purpose and stuff.. but.. zzz waste on average of 40 minutes of travelling time just to go in 1 stupid lab and submit assignment which takes definitely less than 5 minutes..

ok saturday, went to pool wif mau, lim and myself.. lim late as usual, but anyway, pool from 2.30 to like umm.. 4.30

sian.. yesterday(9 december), my internet was down.. i think due to some settings in my laptop or wadever..

then at first, i din know it was my laptop prob, cos my desktop also have the same prob.. so.. i think it must either be the router or the modem..

then i see the router no prob.. so must be the modem.. thus, i called starhub..

around 8 in the morning.. 1 person asked me to shut down the modem, restart it.. restart com..

o.o as if i din know i nid to do that first....

ok. thn go wad command prompt and see ipconfig.. then see the ip is put wrongly..
the person said she thinks that must be the modem spoil or wadever then nid to bring to tampines mall .. o.o

then ok.. i still think theres some other way to solve it.. cos i think is the settings prob.. cos i also cannot connect to sch network..
then i go ask the sch help desk.. they even worse.. say dno wad prob must reformat computer..

sian.. that time oso.. i cant connect to sch network.. ask me to reformat com.. now oso reformat com.. i think the ppl at help desk dno anything bout coms.. oni know how to reformat..

ok then i really believe that the prob has nth to do with my router or modem.. its my settings.. then the help desk oso cannot help me.. then.. i just have to meddle with it myself..

then after changing like 2 settings.. my com finally can access internet.. wooo

then when start doing assignments and stuff, people starts to keep on ask me questions.. how u get it, how u do that..
i mean if like 2 or 3 people ask me, i would gladly help and answer their qns..
but for example, my practical lesson just now.. 1/2 of the class asked me how to do..
so.. in the end, i was spending 3/4 of the time trying to help and answer qns.. lucky i still managed to complete the practical in 20 minutes..
nt that i dun like to help ppl though.. but if it gets too much in the way of my work, it starts to get irritating.. and some ppl.. literally copied my whole screen to do their stuff.. in the end, didn't get gd grades still complain..

1 freakin thing got me irritated this wk..
its cos of the stupid module..
for the test of this module, data communications and networking
we have something like fill in the blanks with keywords..
then some 1 sentence question
then some simple binary calculations..

seem simple?

i thought so..

then when i study, all the answers cannot be found in this module's lecture notes..
even the basic hmwk for this module, i hav to go wikipedia and google to find the answers for the tutorials .. zzz.. then the notes is like totally useless..
ok not totally.. 10 qns.. 8 have to find from the net.. 2 from the book..
so.. if i studied the notes.. i can only score 20% of the marks.. zzz.
then now.. i have to google to prepare for my test tml.. zzz
wad the shit.. if the notes are just enough to supply 20% of information, i dun mind nt buying and study 100% from google.. save money some more.. stupid notes 3 cm thinkness.. and is like the heaviest book of useless stuff..

and so, we went to bbq at downtown east..and the scenery quite nice there oso.. =X

a little depressing thing when we got there was that it started to rain a little..
zzz.. but it was not heavy though, so we decided to just get on with it..
then the rain starts to get a little heavier, but still able to bbq..

so while starting the fire, ppl were holding umbrellas to block the fire from the rain.. looks so stupid..

then i broke a new record.. 6 mins can start a fire worth bbq-ing.....

slackest day of the week
went hm as usual during my 5 hr break to play stupid games -.-

and the end result was nt bad too..

some videos have quality like zzz.. sometimes cannot even see properly

therefore, i "surf around" youtube and found that u can get a better higher quality video if you add "&fmt=18" behind the video link.

NYP will be hosting 740 elderlies at our North Canteen for some performances, games and lunch in 29 NOVEMBER 2008 (SATURDAY) from 8AM till 1:30PM. SIT needs 24 students to help out in this event to take care of about 12 tables of elderlies. The duties are :

- welcome the elderlies
- serve drinks and food
- show them to toilets and back
- help them with games
- keep them company
- accompany them back to their buses at the end of the party

These elderlies are expected to be able to feed themselves. This is for a good cause and is part of NYP-in-Action for the Community effort. Those who participate will get 1 CCA point.

What can you infer from this Cartoon?

My answer for this Qn...

From this picture, I can see a student trying to get across the water to the "A1" on the rock
in the water, however, there is an underwater ravine in the water which was not noticed by the student.
I can infer that the author thinks that there is
little probability that A1 can be achieved,
from the quote :"I feel.." which shows the little confidence in achieving the goal.
The purpose of this source is to get people to have a mindset of achieving a
goal which is seemingly impossible.
from the picture, we can see that even though the water is
clear, the student still walks into an underwater ravine.
which gives us undoubted evidence that either this student is under hypnotism or is stupid.
however,
I doubt the existence of hypnotism in this source as there are no traces of hypnotism found in the picture.
therefore I conclude that this student is stupid enough to try to get to the A1 even though there is an
underwater ravine, hence, this source is trying to tell us that A1 is unachievable and all those who
strive to get it is undoubtedly stupid and will definitely fail.

anyone has the model answer i can check?

yo everyone... its been a while eh? hmm... kind of too busy to update this blog... tryin to mug my chemistry. haas.
been deviating a little away from my chemistry when i was studying... thought about this so called philosophy:

life is like chocolate... hold it too tight, it will melt... just like ppl giving you stress.. hold it too loose, it may drop.. the same as you slacking your way thru life... chocolate is never sweet totally, it always have a tinge of bitterness, bittersweet is wat life is all about... too sweet, not chocolate anymore.. too bitter, few can handle it.. but usually, ppl who can handle bitter chocolate well, knows how to cope with it and enjoy the sweetness encased in the bitter outside...
these people are usually the successful ppl in life, after going through the bitterness in life, they finally enjoyed the sweetness hidden inside... and this sweetness is usually the best feeling, the ultimate enjoyment of chocolates...

haha... kinda longwinded eh? sry.. but thats wat i think...

my ans (anyone can help verify?) :

Al-> Al3+ + 3e-
cos 1/3 mol(9g/27g)... then eqn become: 1/3 Al -> 1/3 Al3+ + e-

1 mol of e- displaced

4OH -> 2H2O + O2 + 4e-

1 mol of e- (displaced by the electricity) ...
therefore,
4/4 OH -> 2/4 H2O + 1/4 O2 + e-

cos the electricity oni displaces 1 mol of electrons...
then from the eqn...
1/4 O2 = 1/4 x 24dm3 = 6dm3 # final ans
